There are many reasons a person can give for not having the time to exercise. The fact is we all have the time. Finding the time is the trick. Work schedules, school schedules, after school activities and household chores can make this task very challenging. If you have the will to exercise you can find a way.
For the parents of small children the issue may not be finding the time but rather finding the will. Young children take a lot of time and attention. By the time the children are in bed you are physically drained. The simplest solution is to buy a workout DVD that is approximately 30 minutes in length. Get up before the children get up and pop the DVD in and get your workout done. The first week may leave you feeling drained throughout the day but as time progresses you will find you have more energy and are sleeping better at night.
Stay at home parents have the ability to attend some sort of baby and parent workout classes together. These classes are normally at the local recreation center and don’t normally cost a lot of money. If you live close to the recreation center you can put the baby in the stroller and walk to and from your class. This gives you and your child some fresh air and will give you some additional aerobic activity.
For the single, career driven person, finding a workout time can be just as challenging. Find a local fitness center that is open 24 hours so you can stop in on your way home from work. If you don’t have a local gym that has hours that fit your schedule you can try the workout DVD at home. If you aren’t interested in jumping around your living room you should go out for walks in the morning. It takes some drive and determination to do this initially, but you can get up 40 minutes earlier in the morning, throw on some running pants and tennis shoes and head out the door for a half hour.
Working out, regardless of the activity, is fun and after a short time you will feel the benefits. You will be more alert throughout the day and will look and feel better. Find the time and get fit.
